County Emblem
 
The County flag symbolizes the prosperity of the region and the progressive spirit of its people who are moving forward and outward in the world. The circle represents the korean letter 'ㅇ', the initial letter of the word, 영양(Yeongyang in Korean), and taegeuk figures stands for the special products of Yeongyang such as red peppers. The colors of red, green and blue stands for red pepper, green mountain, and clear water, respectively, maximizing the image of purity.
 
     
 
 
County Flower : Peony
 
The brilliant and elegant sense of beauty symbolizes an eternal prosperity and hope of Yeongyang with the appearance of invaluable men of talents here in Yeongyang.
 
     
 
 
County Tree : Pine tree
 
As the most of the trees grow widely in Yeongyang-gun with its 86% occupied by mountain area, this evergreen stands for the hopes and aspirations of habitants of the county.
 
     
 
 
   
County Bird : Black-billed magpie
 
The Magpie was long considered as a bird of a lucky sign and symbolizes a hope to inhabitants of our county.
 
     
 
 
Haedoryeong and Dalnangja
 
These image characters and a basic graphic motif of the Sun and the Moon coming from Ilja-bong and Wolja-bong (mountain peaks) of Mt. Ilwol, were expressed in terms of folk and traditional images.
 
     
 
 
Kkomi
 
Kkomi is a character to inform the excellent characteristics of Yeongyang red pepper grown in a clean area of Yeongyang and a modified image of a red pepper as a fairy.
